I can't go to school today.' ' It's Monday, stupid! You know, Monday!' She pulled the cover right off his bed. He grabbed for the covers, eyes still closed. 'I'm sick, very sick!' A whole week of school lay ahead. 'Uh-uh-uh!' He practised a groan. 'Marvyn!' She snapped the blind open. Sunlight poured in. 'Wake up, it's a special Monday!' He screwed up his eyes. 'I think I'm going blind!' Shapes danced across his closed eyelids.
